The State Audit Office of Viet Nam Delegation participates in the "Audit Capacity Building" program in South Korea

(sav.gov.vn) - Under Decision No. 198/QD-KTNN dated January 16, 2024, from May 20-30, 2024, a delegation of the State Audit Office of Viet Nam (SAV) including three officials and auditors participated in the 2024 "Audit Capacity Building" training program organized by the Audit and Inspection Training Institute (AITI) under the Board of Audit and Inspection of Korea (BAI).

The 2024 training program aims to enhance the capacity of mid-level auditors and above by sharing BAI's advanced audit knowledge and methods, as well as facilitating professional exchanges among participants from the Supreme Audit Institutions of Viet Nam, Mongolia, Tanzania, and Turkey. This international cooperation program is funded by the South Korean government. AITI selected 12 auditors from various countries to participate in the two-week training course in South Korea.

In this year’s training program, besides enjoying 10 topics delivered by BAI lecturers and auditors, the delegates would also have the opportunity to visit several agencies and organizations related to BAI's activities, such as the Seoul Education Office, Hyundai Automobile Production and Assembly Plant, South Korean Atomic Energy Research Institute, and South Korean Real Estate Board. Additionally, representatives from the four Supreme Audit Institutions (SAI) of Viet Nam, Mongolia, Tanzania, and Turkey presented on their respective audit topics. The SAV delegation delivered a presentation on the audit plan for the management and protection of the environment at urea fertilizer plants of the Chemical Group for the period 2022-2023.
 

Speaking on behalf of the representatives from the four SAIs at the Closing and certificates awarding Ceremony, Mr. Le Manh Cuong, Head of Division under the SAV Specialised Audit Department No. VII cum Secretary of the SAV Youth Union highly appreciated the quality, thoroughness, professionalism, information richness, and practical significance of the training program. The program not only provided specialized knowledge but also created opportunities for exchanging and learning among public sector auditors from different countries. The lessons and experiences gained through the course will significantly contribute to enhancing the effectiveness of audit work in Viet Nam. The field visits to the related agencies and organizations in South Korea provided the delegation members with deeper insights into efficient operational and management methods, which can then be applied to audit activities in Viet Nam.
 

This training program has helped to enhance audit capacity and strengthen international cooperation, experiences and knowledge sharing among countries, contributing to the development and improvement of the international audit community. As a result, public sector auditors will be better equipped and motivated to fulfill their duties effectively and transparently, contributing to building a sustainable economic development, Mr. Le Manh Cuong shared./.
