In his opening remarks, Mr. Mario G. Lipana, Commissioner of the Commission on Audit of the Philippines, emphasised: “Today's meeting is not only a chance to assess progress but also an opportunity to reaffirm our shared commitment to ASEANSAI’s future initiatives. It is a key moment for Committees to present action plans, enhance regional collaboration, and agree on the operational frameworks for the coming term.” He also expressed confidence in the effective coordination among SAIs in shaping ASEANSAI’s future direction.
Presiding over the meeting, Mr. Yudi Ramdam, Director of the Centre for Public Finance Audit Training, SAI Indonesia, and Head of the ASEANSAI Secretariat, underlined that the SOM is a crucial preparatory stage to ensure ASEANSAI’s strategic decisions are built upon broad-based consensus.
In its capacity as Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee, the SAV representative presented the Draft ASEANSAI Strategic Plan 2026–2029 and the Committee’s Work Plan for 2026–2027, reaffirming SAV’s commitment to continue its role as SPC Chair in the upcoming term. Member SAIs acknowledged and highly valued SAV’s proactive coordination and reached technical-level consensus on the drafts submitted by the Committee.
The meeting also approved a number of other draft documents, including the 2024 Financial Report, the Work Plan and Budget for 2026–2027, and confirmed the appointments of ASEANSAI Vice-Chairs and Committee Chairs. Delegates expressed strong support for the proposed strategic direction, while highlighting the need for strengthened coordination among functional Committees, innovation in operations, and expanded knowledge sharing across ASEANSAI.
