The 62nd Governing Board Meeting brought together 18 delegations of Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) under the chairmanship of the SAI of India (Chair of ASOSAI) and the SAI of China (ASOSAI Secretary General).
In his opening remarks, Mr K. S. Subramanian, Deputy Auditor General of India, underscored the central role of cooperation, innovation and capacity development, calling on member SAIs to strengthen collaboration in auditing emerging issues and to establish a digital knowledge repository of best practices and lessons learned in public sector auditing.
He particularly commended the initiative of hosting the first joint conference between ASOSAI and ARABOSAI on climate change and artificial intelligence, organised by the SAI of Azerbaijan, noting that it reflects strong inter-regional collaboration towards sustainable development.
During the meeting, the Governing Board members presented the Financial Statements, the Budget Plan, the Strategic Plan of ASOSAI, and reports on collaboration with other international organisations.
ASOSAI Working Groups on environmental auditing, crisis management auditing, auditing the Sustainable Development Goals, auditing state-owned enterprises, and IT auditing and data analytics successively delivered presentations on their thematic research results.
In addition, the ASOSAI Special Committee presented a feasibility study on establishing a new ASOSAI Working Group on public financial forecasting and assessment; and the 14th ASOSAI Research Project: “Promoting artificial intelligence to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in public sector auditing.”
At the meeting, the SAV, acting as a member of the ASOSAI Audit Committee for the 2024–2027 term, performed its oversight function over the voting process for ASOSAI nominees to the Governing Board of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) for the 2025–2031 term, and for the position of INTOSAI External Auditor for the 2026–2028 term.
