The National Assembly elected Mr. Ngo Van Tuan to be Auditor General of State Audit Office of Viet Nam
In the afternoon of October 21, 2022, following the 4th session of the 15th National Assembly, the National Assembly elected Mr. Ngo Van Tuan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Personnel Committee and Secretary, Party Committee, Deputy State Auditor General in charge of State Audit of Viet Nam (SAV) to hold the position of State Auditor General for the term 2021-2026 with the approval rate of 92.17%.
According to the Law on Organization of the National Assembly, the consolidation of the title of State Auditor General falls under the competence of the National Assembly. The removal and election of replacement personnel shall take place at the nearest National Assembly session.
At the 4th session, the 15th National Assembly, after the National Assembly passed the Resolution to remove Mr. Tran Sy Thanh from the position of State Auditor General, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly submitted to the National Assembly the expected personnel to be elected as the State Auditor General for the term 2021-2026. The person recommended to be elected as the State Auditor General is Mr. Ngo Van Tuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Personnel Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy State Auditor General in charge of the State Audit Office of Viet Nam.

Following the session, the National Assembly conducted the process of electing the State Auditor General by secret ballot. With a majority of votes in favor, the National Assembly voted to approve the Resolution to elect the Deputy State Auditor General in charge of State Audit Ngo Van Tuan as the State Auditor General for the 2021-2026 term.
Previously, on July 24, 2022, Mr. Ngo Van Tuan was assigned by the Politburo to be the Secretary of the Party Committee of the State Audit Office. At the same time, the National Assembly Standing Committee issued a Resolution appointing Mr. Ngo Van Tuan to hold the position of Deputy State Auditor General, in charge of the State Audit Office.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said that Mr. Ngo Van Tuan is a profoundly trained cadre who has held various working positions and has rich practical experience at the Ministry of Finance, the Central Economic Commission and Hoa Binh province.
The new State Auditor General is also regarded as a competent and moral cadre who consistenly strives and trains to advance, adapts to working conditions, is prepared to take on and successfully fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party and the State.
