Deputy Auditor-General of Viet Nam Bui Quoc Dzung pays a working visit to the National Audit Office of Sweden

(sav.gov.vn) – Within the framework of the working visit to Finland and Sweden, the Delegation of the State Audit Office of Viet Nam (SAV) led by Deputy Auditor-General of Viet Nam Bui Quoc Dzung had a meeting with the National Audit Office of Sweden (SNAO) in the capital city of Stockholm.

At the SNAO headquarters, Deputy Auditor General Ms. Claudia Gardberg Morner and her colleagues, the leaders of Performance Audit Department, Financial Audit Department and International Cooperation Department welcomed and had a meeting with the SAV delegation.  

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Auditor-General Bui Quoc Dzung expressed sincere thanks to the warm welcome and appreciated the roles that SNAO has been taking in the bilateral and multilateral frameworks. Notably to mention, as Deputy Chair of INTOSAI Capacity Development Committee, SNAO has gained remarkable achievements in supporting SAIs, including SAV, in their capacity enhancement course.

Mr. Dzung highlighted, the year 2024 is of significance importance as the two countries celebrate 55th year anniversary of diplomatic relation (1969-2024). The high-level visits exchange strongly showcases the depth the relation, namely the visit to Sweden by Viet Nam Prime Minister, and the visit to Viet Nam by the Swedish Crown Princess in May 2019, recently the visit to Sweden by Ms. Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Standing Member of the Secretariat, Head of Communist Party Central Committee’s Organization Commission (28/10 - 01/11/2023). Such activities have contributed to the enhancement of mutual political trust and understanding, creating more incentives for boosting up the national relationships.

In his conversation, Mr. Dzung also expressed suggestion that the two organisations further exchange experience and enhance the bilateral cooperation; simultaneously expected that SAV continues receiving support from SNAO in the multilateral forums like INTOSAI.
 

Deputy Auditor General Ms. Claudia Gardberg Morner congratulated the remarkable achievements of the diplomatic relation between Viet Nam and Sweden, conveyed expectation that relationships between the two countries in general and the two SAIs in particular would be increasingly robust. She also stated that SNAO is willing to share experience with and provide trainings, technical assistance for SAV, especially in the areas of their strength like environmental audit, the preparation and implementation of audit standards, etc.

Following the high-level talk, there was a session where the SAV Delegation and SNAO colleagues exchanged their experience in environmental audit, implementation of international audit standards. Representing SNAO, Mr. Peter Rostedt, senior international cooperation official, Ms. Ulrika Meyer, Head of Development and Management, Financial Audit Department and Mr. Tommi Teljosuo, Head of audit delegation, Performance Audit Department delivered the presentations on the SNAO implementation of international standards in financial and performance audit. Whereas, Mr. Jörgen Lindström, Head of Division, Performance Audit Department, Mr. Fredrik Engström, Head of audit delegation, Performance Audit Department and Ms. Maria Bohm, Senior Auditor, Performance Audit Department presented their Office’s experience in environmental audit.
 
From SAV, Chief Auditor of the Specialised Audit Department No. III Le Tung Lam will deliver the presentation on environmental audit in SAV 30-year development journey.

The session witnessed the active discussions, the mutually shared experience, the great contributions and comments among the participants. At the end of the discussion, Ms. Claudia Gardberg Morner highly hailed the quality of the presentations, the precious experience shared and especially the issues raised by the two sides; affirming that success of the session would be a momentous precondition for the upcoming cooperative activities between the two Offices.

Within the visit in Sweden, the Delegation visited Viet Nam Embassy based in this country. The delegation departed from Stockholm on January 30th 2024./.
