With the consent of the Chairman of SR Vietnam National Assembly, in two days August 4 and 5 2010, the official meetings of the 42nd Session of Governing Board of the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI), 2009 – 2012, were held in Hanoi.
Attending the Session, there were 60 official delegates from 11 ASOSAI Governing Board and 2 Audit Committee member SAIs; guests from the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions - INTOSAI, representatives from the embassies of some Asian countries in Vietnam. Mr. Tanwir Ali Agha – Pakistan SAI General Auditor, ASOSAI President and Mr. Hwangsik Kim – South Korea SAI Chairman, ASOSAI Secretary General co-chaired the Session.
In the first meeting, August 4th 2010, the participants reviewed, discussed and re-evaluated the activities of the Governing Board and Secretariat ASOSAI since the last session; hearing its financial statement 2009 and discussing the financial issues, yearly dues and budget; Discussing ASOSAI training activities. In particular, the Governing Board deliberated ASOSAI draft strategic plan 2011 - 2015.
On August 5th 2010, in the second meeting, the Governing Board continued to discuss and decide a number of other important content such as progress of 9th Research Project "Evaluation and Improvement of Internal Audit Systems and the Relationship between the Internal Audit Unit and SAIs"; report from ASOSAI working group on conducting environmental audit; preparing for XII ASOSAI Assembly (2012); time and place for next Governing Board meeting. In addition, the cooperation between ASOSAI-EUROSAI attracted attention of many delegates.
August 4th 2010 afternoon, Chairman of Vietnam National Assembly Mr. Nguyen Phu Trong met courtesy with ASOSAI Governing Board member SAIs. The content as talks, a bilateral meeting between SAI Vietnam and SAIs South Korea, Japan, Pakistan and Turkey; sightseeing and travel tours were properly planned and successful.
