SAV works with Audit Committee of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland

On 12 October 2017, at the Head Office of SAV, the Legal Affairs Department leader chaired the meeting and worked with the Audit Committee of the Deparment of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland led by Mr. James O'Brien, Senior Member of Audit Committee – Deparment of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT)

​Overview of the meeting

At the meeting, Mr. Le Anh Dung, Director General of Legal Affairs Department, introduced to the delegation about the development process, legal status, functions, tasks and role of SAV. For evaluation of the cooperation between the Government of Ireland and SAV, he said that Irish Government aid to Program 135 has contributed to the poverty reduction in the country, significantly improving life conditions and increasing access to basic social services of the poor. According to the Agreement signed with Irish Government aid, provinces funded by the Government of Ireland have built 287 traffic insfrastructure, schools and medical station. In the coming time, SAV is expected to continue to cooperate with the Government of Ireland, especially in the audit of the source of the Program 135 and in the training of human resources of the State Audit.
 
With the warm welcome and affection of the State Audit of Viet Nam, on behalf of the delegation of Audit Committee - DFAT, Mr. James O'Brien expressed his delight at the results achieved in the cooperation between the Government of Ireland and SAV in recent years. Mr. James O'Brien said that the Audit Committee - DFAT is an independent board with six members; DFAT's recommendations shall contribute to improve the performance of DFAT. Mr. James O'Brien said that with the results from the implementation of the 135 program, two parties will continue to cooperate and jointly coordinate in determining the investment scale of infrastructure works in extremely difficult areas with the high poverty rate to assist the Government of Vietnam in poverty reduction and economic development. Mr. James O'Brien emphasized that the Audit Committee is ready to assist SAV in auditing programs, project, training and enhancing the capacity of state auditors.
