Expressing delight to welcome the BAI delegation to attend the international workshop “The Role of Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) in Preventing and Combating Corruption, Enhancing Public Integrity and Good Governance” and the 30th anniversary celebration of SAV, Deputy Auditor-General Doan Anh Tho emphasized the remarkable progress in the over 30-year diplomatic relationship between Viet Nam and Korea with significant milestones.

The Viet Namese government and SAV highly value the cooperative relationship with Korea and BAI. The Viet Namese government particularly values the investment cooperation from Korean enterprises and always facilitates their development in Viet Nam. "We aspire to further boost up this cooperative relationship" shared the Deputy Auditor-General.

Providing information about the activities of the SAV, Mr. Doan Anh Tho said that SAV was established on July 11, 1994, and has achieved many significant accomplishments in its 30-year journey of formation and development. SAV has 32 subordinate units and more than 2000 officials and staff. SAV's legal status was enshrined in the 2013 Constitution. Especially, on August 12, 2020, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of Viet Nam approved the SAV development strategy by *2030, identifying three development pillars: Legal framework, human resources, and technology.

Tho emphasized that in international relations, SAVplaces the special attention to the relations with BAI. He represented the SAV strong hope that the two agencies would further strengthen cooperation, enhance coordination, and share experiences, especially in areas such as anti-corruption, environmental auditing, and the application of information technology in auditing activities.

In the future, SAV will continue to be a responsible member in fulfilling multilateral commitments and agreements with INTOSAI, ASOSAI, and ASEANSAI; and successfully accomplish its role as a member of the ASOSAI Governing Board for the 2021-2024 term. SAV hopes that BAI will support its aspiration to run for the ASOSAI Audit Committee for the 2024-2027 term at the 16th ASOSAI Assembly in India.

At the meeting, Mr. Kim Young Shin, Commissioner of the Board of Audit and Inspection of Korea, extended congratulations and thanks to SAV for inviting BAI to participate in the 30th year anniversary celebration of SAV. This is an important milestone, marking significant progress in the SAV development course.

Mr. Kim Young Shin appreciated that Viet Nam is a dynamic and rapidly developing country. It will serve as a good condition for SAV to develop robustly, then contributing to the socio-economic development of the country.

Like SAV, the legal status of BAI is enshrined in the Korean Constitution, and it is an independent inspection and audit agency. BAI is willing to share its operational achievements and experiences with all SAIs. Recently, BAI has organized many activities to exchange and cooperate with audit agencies, including SAV. BAI also wishes to become a member of the ASOSAI Audit Committee and seeks for the SAV support, said Mr. Kim Young Shin.

"I think Viet Nam and Korea shared many cultural and historical similarities. The two countries are comprehensive strategic partners which is continuing to develop. The good relationship between the BAI and the SAV will certainly contribute cementing national level interconnection," emphasized Mr. Kim Young Shin.

Tho expressed sincere thanks and desire that in the future, the bilateral cooperative relationship between the SAV and the BAI will be bolstered in a practical and effective manner, meeting the growing demands of each agency and in correspondence to the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries./.
