Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man meets with the President of the Lao State Audit Organisation

(sav.gov.vn) - Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man suggested that the State Audit Office of Viet Nam (SAV) and the State Audit Organisation of Laos (SAL) continue to strengthen their extensive collaboration on a par with the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos.

During the official visit to the Lao People's Democratic Republic (LPDR) and participation in the 45th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-45), on the afternoon of October 18, in Vientiane, Chairman Tran Thanh Man received President of the SAL Viengthavisone Thephachanh.

Man expressed his pleasure at paying this official visit to the LPDR, at the invitation of President of the Lao National Assembly Saysomphone Phomvihane.

The Chairman emphasized that the visit aims to demonstrate the determination of the leaders of the Vietnamese Party and State to consolidate and enhance the great friendship, special solidarity, trust, and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties and States in general, and to further promote the comprehensive cooperation between the two legislative bodies.

He stated that Viet Nam and Laos are close neighboring countries with a long-standing and loyal traditional relationship. Based on this good relationship, the SAV and SAL have enjoyed a special connection since the establishment of the SAL in 1998.

The Chairman proposed that, based on the signed bilateral cooperation agreement, the two agencies continue to engage in many substantial and effective cooperative activities that align with the requirements of professional expertise, particularly the needs for exchange and training support from the SAL.

Chairman Tran Thanh Man also mentioned that in September 2024, the senior leaders of both Parties met to assess the cooperation situation between the two countries in various fields, including politics-diplomacy, national defense-security, trade-investment, education-training, and the implementation of the agreements signed between the two National Assemblies.

Given that, he urged the SAV and SAL to continue enhancing their comprehensive cooperation on a par with the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive collaboration between Viet Nam and Laos. He also called for effective and substantial implementation of cooperative activities in the coming years to continue improving the institutional framework, organizational structure, and professional expertise in each agency.

Additionally, Man suggested that both agencies cooperate and support each other practically to affirm the reputation of their respective SAIs in international professional organizations, thereby increasing the value and benefits of each side as well as of international audit organizations in general.

President Viengthavisone Thephachanh expressed his honor to greet Chairman Tran Thanh Man during his official visit to the LPDR and his attendance at the 45th AIPA General Assembly, while reporting the results of cooperation between the SAV and SAL.

He affirmed that, in recent times, both sides have implemented cooperative activities in accordance with the signed agreement and sincerely thanked the SAV for assisting the SAL in training staff and organizing professional development courses for auditors. He emphasized that the SAL always supports and actively collaborates with the SAV at regional and international forums.

On this occasion, the SAL President expressed his gratitude for the attention and facilitation provided by the leadership of both National Assemblies regarding the cooperative activities between the two SAIs. He also highlighted his delight at the achievements that Viet Nam has attained in recent times and expressed a desire to share experiences in the field of auditing, especially in strengthening fiscal discipline and regulations to contribute to the socio-economic development of the country.
