(sav.gov.vn) - As part of the official visit to Georgia from November 14-19, Deputy Auditor General of Viet Nam, Ha Thi My Dzung has met with the Leader of the State Audit Office of Georgia (SAG).
Joining the delegation were leaders from the State Audit Office of Viet Nam (SAV), including Director General of Specialized Audit Department No. Ia Pham Van Hoc, Director General of Regional Audit Office No. I Ngo Minh Kiem, Director General of Regional Audit Office No. II Duong Quang Chinh, Director General of Regional Audit Office No. V Nguyen Duc Sy, Deputy Director General of the International Cooperation Department Lang Trinh Mai Huong, Deputy Director General of the General Affairs Department Tran Tri Thanh, and Deputy Director General of the Personnel Department Tran Duc Lam.
The meeting was hosted by Deputy Auditor General of Georgia, Sophio Dvalishvili, along with various key officials, including Tsotne Karkashadze, Director General of the Budget and Strategy Analysis Department; Tornike Shermadini, Director General of Economic Activity Audit Department; Giorgi Kapanadze, Director General of Performance Audit Department; and Nino Kereselidze, Director General of the International Cooperation Department.
In her opening remarks, Deputy Auditor General of Georgia, Sophio Dvalishvili, expressed her pleasure in hosting the SAV delegation and shared insights into the history, functions, and strategic development goals of the Georgian State Audit Office for the 2023-2027 period. She noted that her Office was established in 1918 and re-established as an independent entity in 1992. It became the State Audit Office of Georgia in 2012 following constitutional reforms.
Deputy Auditor General Ha Thi My Dzung thanked her Georgian counterparts for their warm welcome and praised Georgia's contributions to international organizations like International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) and Asian Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI), as well as the active participation in various INTOSAI working groups.
During the discussions, both sides exchanged views on audit practices, implementation of audit recommendations, IT application in auditing, auditor training, and internal audits. Deputy Auditor General Ha Thi My Dzung acknowledged Georgia's significant experience in 3 types of audit: performance, financial, and compliance auditing. She highlighted SAI Georgia's role in enhancing transparency and accountability.
Looking to the future, Head of the SAV delegation expressed interest in expanding bilateral cooperation by exchanging expertise in areas where both countries excel. They proposed organizing high-level visits, workshops, and sharing experiences in performance audit and audit recommendations follow-up, particularly through online platforms. In terms of multilateral cooperation, both SAIs emphasized their commitment to supporting and advocating for each other at international forums such as INTOSAI and ASOSAI, etc.
In conclusion, Deputy Auditor General Ha Thi My Dzung expressed her hope for the continued expansion and development of cooperation between the two State Audit Offices.
