(sav.gov.vn) - During the Global Summit of the Development Initiatives (IDI) of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) in Georgia, Deputy Auditor General Ha Thi My Dzung engaged in friendly and active discussions with leaders of Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) and international organizations attending the Summit.
Deputy Auditor General Ha Thi My Dzung held meetings with IDI, the Brazilian Federal Court of Audit, the State Audit Office of Kingdom of Thailand, among others, to promote existing strong bilateral relations and to introduce the achievements of the State Audit Office of Viet Nam (SAV) as well as its recent contributions to the international community.
In a meeting with IDI Deputy Director Archana Shirsat, Mrs. Ha Thi My Dzung acknowledged the critical role IDI plays in developing institutional and professional capacities, as well as its efforts to improve the performance framework of INTOSAI member SAIs.
For her part, Deputy Director Shirsat emphasized that SAV is an active member of INTOSAI, particularly praising the success SAV has achieved during its term as Chair of the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) from 2018 to 2021. In addition, SAV has actively collaborated in activities such as hosting training courses organized by IDI and sending officials to participate in the Young Leaders Program and Leadership Skills Course.
In discussions with the Auditor General of Thailand, Monthien Charoenpol, Deputy Auditor General Ha Thi My Dzung congratulated the Thai SAI for its contributions as ASOSAI Chair for the 2021-2024 term, highlighting their initiatives that promote the realization of the Bangkok Declaration. She also commended the close bilateral cooperation between the two audit institutions. SAV also greatly appreciated Thailand’s active participation and contributions to the joint audit of the Mekong River Basin Water Management during the 2020-2021 period, which was initiated and led by SAV.
Auditor General Monthien Charoenpol reaffirmed SAI Thailand’s support for SAV during its role as host for the 14th ASOSAI Assembly in 2018 and its leadership of ASOSAI from 2018 to 2021. He also confirmed continued support in both bilateral and multilateral frameworks such as INTOSAI, ASOSAI, and the ASEAN Supreme Audit Institutions (ASEANSAI).
During a meeting with the President of the Brazilian Federal Court of Audit, Deputy Auditor General Ha Thi My Dzung conveyed greetings from the Auditor General of Viet Nam, Ngo Van Tuan, to Mr. Bruno Dantas, congratulating the Brazilian SAI for successfully hosting the 24th INTOSAI Congress and its fruitful tenure as INTOSAI Chair from 2022 to 2025.
Deputy Auditor General Ha Thi My Dzung also expressed gratitude for the cooperation of the Brazilian SAI and highly valued its generous professional contributions of Walton Alencar Rodrigues, a Member of the Board of the Brazilian Federal Court of Audit, at the 8th meeting of the INTOSAI Working Group on Big Data held in September 2024 in Ninh Bình city, Viet Nam.
President Bruno Dantas praised SAV’s contributions to the INTOSAI and ASOSAI communities and expressed confidence that the two institutions would have opportunities to further strengthen bilateral cooperation. He affirmed continued mutual support within both bilateral and multilateral cooperation frameworks.
During the Summit, Deputy Auditor General Ha Thi My Dzung also met with leaders of international organizations and SAIs from Belgium, Maldives, Kenya, Chile, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the Secretary General of INTOSAI Working Group on Environmental Audit. The aim of these meetings was to continue fostering cooperation and development in the field of public auditing.
At these meetings, all organizations and SAIs hailed SAV’s efforts in bilateral relations and its participation in the multilateral forums of INTOSAI and ASOSAI. They expressed their desire to continue collaborating and supporting one another in the future.
