Workshop on Audits of World Bank - Funded projects conducted by the State Audit Office of Vietnam

On January 19, 2018, the State Audit Office of Vietnam (SAV) and the World Bank (WB) jointly held the workshop on Audits of WB - Funded projects conducted by SAV. The workshop was attended by representatives of the governing advisory departments and the departments which were in charge of audits of WB-funded programs and projects; representatives of the Management Board of programs and projects of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Construction.

In the opening speech, Dr. Ha Thi My Dzung, the Director General of the International Cooperation Department of SAV, highly appreciated the close cooperation between WB and SAV during the past time. She said that on the basis of the agreements signed between the Government of Vietnam and WB, SAV has been conducted annual financial audits of some programs and projects funded by WB in Vietnam. In recent years, SAV has audited 3 programs and projects funded by WB: project Result-based Red river Delta Rural Water Supply and Sanitation program; project Results-Based National Urban Development Program - Northern Mountains; the Ho Chi Minh City Environmental Sanitation Project, Phase 2 and issue audit reports as scheduled.
 
Experts from WB, the General Affairs Department and Specialised Audit Department No V of SAV presented their speeches on the following topics: WB’s requirements and expectations on audits of WB-funded programs and projects, SAV's regulations on auditing of foreign loan programs and projects and the audit results of WB-funded programs and projects conducted by SAV.

On the basis of the presentations, the participants discussed and focused on clarifying issues and proposing solutions to time of issuance of audit reports, format of presentation of audit reports, scope and contents of audit.
