On the afternoon of September 7, 2022, at the National Assembly House, Politburo member, National Assembly Chairman, H.E. Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue received the alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the State Audit Office of Laos People's Democratic Republic, Mr. Viengthavisone Thephachanh on his official visit to Viet Nam. National Assembly Chairman, H.E Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue expressed his warm welcome to the President of SAO, Mr. Viengthavisone Thephachanh leading SAO's Delegation in the official visit to Viet Nam for the first time in his new position. The National Assembly Chairman highly appreciated the successful talks between the two delegations of SAV and SAO as well as the results of cooperation between the two agencies during the past time.
With the foundation of the unique relationship between Viet Nam and Lao PDR, National Assembly Chairman said that the two countries' State Audit Offices had close cooperation, support and assistance to each other on the basis of similarities in organizational structure. National Assembly Chairman, H.E. Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue affirmed that the National Assemblies of the two countries fully supported and created favorable conditions for the two countries' State Audit Offices to strengthen the cooperation, support, experiences sharing, and good performance of their assigned functions and tasks. National Assembly Chairman showed his wish that SAV and SAO will continue to exchange high-level and all-level delegations; strengthen the training and fostering of expertise, professionalism and professional ethics for auditors as well as exchange experiences on operation of the SAI, which ensures professional independence and the leadership of the Party and the National Assembly. As a result, promoting the role and responsibilities of a reputable and responsible inspection agency on finance and public assets for the Party and people, contributing to boosting the macroeconomic foundation, building a legal system, strengthening financial and budgetary discipline.

President of SAO, Mr. Viengthavisone Thephachanh expressed his pleasure and honor on his working visit to Vietnam and availed himself to meet the Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman. He also gave his congratulations on the 77th National Day of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and wished the Party, the State, the National Assembly and the people of Viet Nam more success on the road to building a stronger and more prosperous Viet Nam.
President of SAO expressed his impression of Viet Nam's outstanding development, particularly in the recent fight against the Covid-19 epidemic. The outstanding socioeconomic development as well as the prestige and increasingly high position of Viet Nam in the region and around the world have shown authenticity in the development of Viet Nam's socialist-oriented market economy.

Talking about the difficulties of the Lao PDR’s economy due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic and the fuel crisis, the President of SAO thanked the generous support of the neighboring countries, including Viet Nam, to help Laos partly solve difficulties and gradually improve people's lives. Additional to objective reasons, the President of SAO frankly pointed out some subjective reasons in the management and administration of the economy, thereby emphasizing the importance of State Audit Office‘s activities in order to strengthen the macro-economy, rule and discipline in the use of public finance and public assets.
He said that he would propose that the National Assembly of Lao PDR amend the Law on State Audit Office and develop regulations for SAO to operate more effectively.

Agreeing with the sharing of President of SAO, National Assembly Chairman, H.E Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized that the National Assembly and SAV are ready to share experiences with the National Assembly and SAO of Lao PDR in the process of amending and supplementing its Law as proposed. On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman, H.E Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue suggested that the two Offices continue to maintain the cooperation mechanism among the three State Audit Offices of Cambodia, Lao PDR and Viet Nam while strengthening close cooperation within organizations such as ASEANSAI, ASOSAI and INTOSAI./.
